Five Of The Best Festivals In Wales

At Cascade Conversions we are very lucky to be based in Wales. There is so much to see and do here and we love nothing more than taking our converted campervans around Wales to some of the best festivals in the country. Here are a few of our top picks:

Naturally, we love to go along to Volksfest and surround ourselves in a sea of VWs and their owners. This year Volksfest is 19th – 20th August in Brecon. See you there.

World Alternative Games

From 12th to 29th August, the quiet and unassuming mid-Wales town of Llanwrtyd Wells will become the home of all things ridiculous. Famous for the annual bog snorkelling championships, other ‘alternative games’ include stone skimming, man v horse race, the slow bicycle race and egg throwing. There is a competition for all during the festival, provided you have a sense of humour and a sense of humility.

Abergavenny Food Festival

If you consider yourself to be a bit of a foodie, then you won’t want to miss the Abergavenny Food Festival. Turn up in your campervan on an empty stomach and plunge yourself into some of the greatest culinary delights around. This year it is on 17th and 18th September.

Green Man

There really are too many music festivals to choose from, but if we had to pick a favourite (which we don’t, we try to get to as many as we can) then we would say the Green Man. Attracting visitors from far and wide, to this intimate festival in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, this year the festival is 18th – 20th August.

Festival Number 6

A somewhat eccentric music festival, this music festival takes place on 5th – 7th September in Portmeirion. You can really relax in the mystical village, and give yourself over to your senses.
